Technical Wrestling Icon "Dynamite Kid" Tom Billington Passes Away At Age 60

Updated: Aug 14, 2020

Several sources have reported that former WWE World Tag Team Champion and technical wrestling icon "Dynamite Kid" Tom Billington, has passed away at the age of 60.

Billington was a mainstay in the WWE during the 1980's, comprising one half of one of the greatest and most popular tag teams; "The British Bulldogs", with the late Davey Boy Smith and was the technical brains, while Smith was the brawn of the team. Billington was a huge fan favorite in NJPW, where he had several classic matches with Japanese Legend Tiger Mask.

Due to his in ring style and rampant abuse of PED's, including steroids, Billington was forced to retire from professional wrestling in 1991 at the age of 37. He was later confined to a wheelchair, as a result to the toll pro wrestling had taken to his body, most notably the diving headbutt, which was a signature move of former eight time NWA World Champion Harley Race and other WWE Wrestlers like former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit.

We here at Kayfabe Kickout express our sincerest condolences to Billington's family and friends at this time.
