An online Change.org petition has started and has been endorsed by WWE Hall of Famer and multiple time world champion Bret "The Hitman" Hart, who is also Smith's Brother in Law. The past few years there has been a strong opinion among pro wrestling fans, that Smith deserves a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame, as he was a fan favorite and a superb overall wrestler. So far, the online petition has over 20,000 signatures and fans can sign either at TeamDaveyBoySmith.com or at Change.org.
