In a recent interview with The Whig, current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jinder Mahal spoke on his release from the WWE in 2014, where he was part of a massive release of talents from the company. Looking back, Mahal seems very grateful that the WWE released him, as he was able to reflect and reinvent his character.

“Looking back at it, it was probably the best thing that ever happened to me because I got to go away and reinvent myself and rediscover myself, get my confidence back, get my focus back most importantly, you need those lows to enjoy the highs and the wrestling business is like that. Sometimes you're up, sometimes you're down, but you've just got to stay persistent and better days always come. There was no promise, there was no guarantee of it. I think maybe they give that talk to everybody because really the door always is open in WWE. Never say never.”
