It's reported that Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, has officially purchased the National Wrestling Alliance. The deal reportedly includes the name, all rights to the company, trademarks and rights, and full possession of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Corgan will also assume the rights to Bruce Tharpe's position in the NWA, the NWA on demand service through VOD, as well as the Paul Boesch video library.
This will end Bruce Tharpe's five year ownership of the NWA, which occured in 2012 when his company, International Wrestling Corporation LLC. successfully won a lawsuit against the NWA and numerous banner members. As of this report, no major changes to the NWA will be made on Corgan's end, but everything will be looked at from a long term perspective.
