Remembering Sean O'Haire

To those who are not fully aware, Sean Christopher Haire, known in the wrestling world s Sean O'Haire, has committed suicide at the age of 43. To those who start to judge him for this act, please don't. We don't need to assassinate one person's character in death. We want to remember the man for how he lived. A recipient of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Rookie of the Year in 2000 as well as a three-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, O'Haire was one of the most talented his in wrestling, no matter what he did. As a member of the Natural Born Thrillers along with fellow WCW Power Plant graduate Mark Jindrak, Shawn Stasiak, Chuck Palumbo, Mike Sanders, Johnny Stamboli, and Reno; O'Haire Erin the WCW World Tag Team Championship, twice with Jindrak and the other with Chuck Palumbo. And it was Palumbo and O'Haire that made their mark in WWE during the Invasion storyline, but that would crumble when Palumbo was thrown out of the Alliance in October and O'Haire was sent down to OVW. When he returned in 2003 as a devil's advocate, he kicked but no matter who he faced. He also urged everybody to do things that are morally illegal. When he was paired with the legendary “Rowdy" Roddy Piper, he was learning from the best in the business. He earned several victories via count out. When the Rowdy One left WWE yet again, O'Haire was forced to fend for himself before being involved in a motorcycle accident. He left the WWE in 2004. O'Haire wrestled in.Japan and the independent scene until he retired in 2006 to focus on MMA. That didn't pan out very well. Recently he owned a barber shop in his hometown of Hilton Head, South Carolina. The untimely death of Sean O'Haire is sad for those who remember him for who he was; A wrestler with so much potential that retired too soon in his career and was gone way to soon. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time of grief. Follow me on Twitter @matthewhollie.
